The Greene County Historical Society is looking for submissions to create a new book on Greene County History! Several Histories of the County Exist, however they have all focused on the topics of interest by the Historian Writing them, we would like to do something different!
WE WANT YOUR STORIES!
If you have Family Stories, Genealogy, Tales and Legends from your Town or Township, Reflections on Your Childhood, Stories about what makes Greene County Special to You, Important Events or anything else that will help us create a new chapter in our Local History!
The Ten Best Submissions will receive a Copy of L. K. Evans History of Greene County Pennsylvania which was created from a series of News Paper Articles that appeared in 1875. The Best Submission will receive a Copy of LK Evans History, a Copy of the New History when Published, and a Year Long Pass allowing Free Admission to the GCHS Museum and Events for a Full Calendar Year!

Not all submissions may be used for Publication, however all Submissions will be archived at the Greene County Historical Society Museum as a record for future generations. Submissions should be free from unnecessary political commentary, slandering, and should generally be positive in nature, and relate to local places and events. Photos can be included with submissions to be used in Final Publication, however they be utilized based on available amount of space. All photos and documents submitted should be the work of the individual submitting.
This is a project we are VERY Excited about at the Greene County Historical Society, and this is your oppurtunity to preserve your History and Heritage for Posterity!
Proceeds from the ultimate sale of this work will benefit the Greene County Historical Society and help us complete our mission to promote an appreciation of Greene County History through the preservation and interpretation of local artifacts and stories in order to educate the public and future generations through a narrative of the rich heritage of Greene County and its surrounding areas.
