The Drop of Lecture Series are presented by the Greene County Historical Society and guest speakers. Lectures are free and open to the public, donations are appreciated.

Guest Speaker: Jim Weinschenker

Topic: Waynesburg & Washington Railroad

Jim Weinschenker, author of "Waynesburg & Washington Railroad: Second Number 4," will share his research on the history of the W&W Railroad and the Second Number 4 locomotive that is at the Museum. Copies of the book are available to purchase at the Museum and Jim will be available to sign your copy after the lecture.

Guest Speaker: Brian Brashear

Topic: Civil War

Brian Brashear, noted historian and Civil War Reenactor, will be giving a presentation on the Civil War Units of Southwestern Pennsylvania. "For Union and the Keystone State," come out and learn about the very units YOUR ancestors may have served in during the Civil War.


Friday, October 18 @ 7 PM

Guest Speaker: Dr. Jarrod Burks

Topic: Adena and Hopewell Earthworks

Renowned archaeologist Dr. Jarrod Burks will give a lecture on the Adena and Hopewell Earthworks in the Ohio Valley.
