Archival Library

Due to an ongoing, large archival project, the library is not open and the material does not circulate. The museum staff is available to research inquiries on family and local history.

The Greene County Historical Society maintains a Local History and Archival Library located in the old poor farm boiler house, behind the main museum building. The GCHS Library is open by request only and is a non-circulating Library. The GCHS Library and Archival collection contains books, archival documents and photographs with a focus on the political, economic, social, religious and military history of Greene County, Pennsylvania. In addition to these items, the GCHS Library and Archives has a limited collection of items pertaining to Maryland, Ohio, West Viginia and Viginia.

Due to time constraints, we are temporarily discontinueing our research program.
